Assign Buyer Map

Victor Cipolla | Assign | October 2026

As of 12 Oct 2026

Assign places full-time, dedicated offshore staff in supply chain and procurement, finance and accounting, operations and executive support, and runs payroll, HR and ongoing support while the client manages the work day to day.

This map lays out the groups of US organizations those hires fit, how large each group is where a clean public count exists, split by firm size, and who usually signs off inside each one.

The groups follow the roles and industries Assign names on its own site: product companies that buy, ship and pay for goods, and the real estate offices, consultancies, agencies and design studios whose owners need a full-time assistant.

Where the buyers sit

Counts are US firms, not locations, and are banded on purpose. Where the public file gives no split by firm size, the size columns say so.

Who usually signs off, by group

Titles shift with size. In the smallest firms in every group the owner holds most of these seats and decides alone.

What each group is weighing

GroupWhat moves the decision
Wholesale distributors and importersPurchase orders, supplier follow-up and invoices growing faster than margins allow for another US hire, and payables or receivables running behind
Online retailers and product brandsSourcing, inventory and shipping work landing on a small team, and customer emails that need answering in US hours
ManufacturersProcurement and payables backlogs, pressure on overhead roles, and keeping supplier records and purchase orders clean
Consulting firms and agenciesPartner hours lost to scheduling, inbox and travel, and invoicing or bookkeeping done late
Real estate brokerages and property managersAgents spending selling hours on paperwork and calendars, and managers carrying invoice volume across many buildings
Interior design firmsVendor orders, delivery tracking and client invoicing on every project, handled by the same people who design

How the decision usually runs

In small firms the owner usually decides quickly, often after a stretch of doing the work personally. The questions are about fit, hours and what happens if the hire does not work out.

In mid-size firms the person who owns the backlog, such as the controller, purchasing manager or head of operations, raises the request, and the CEO or CFO approves it against the cost of a US hire. HR and IT ask about onboarding, system access and data handling before a start date is set.

Where to start

Lead with the supply chain seat at distributors and product brands

Sourcing, logistics and procurement is the line Assign leads with, and purchasing managers and owners at distributors and online brands feel that backlog first. One dedicated coordinator working in their time zone, with payroll and HR handled, is a concrete first ask.

Take the finance seat to the person who owns the backlog

At distributors and manufacturers the controller carries payables, receivables and month end. A full-time bookkeeper or payables specialist, backed by the refundable deposit and the replacement promise on Assign's site, answers the risk question before it comes up.

Give small firm owners their selling hours back

Broker owners, consultancy founders, agency owners and design principals buy time. An executive or administrative assistant matched to their industry, handling scheduling, inbox, travel and paperwork full time, speaks to the hours they lose each week.

Built from public federal registries and the company's own website, counts banded deliberately.
